Sri Lanka, July 13 -- A special project to develop rural infrastructure under the 'Punarudaye Purawara' national programme will commence tomorrow, Deputy Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government, Ruwan Senarath stated.

As the first phase, over 100 rural bridges will be developed at a cost of 1,050 million rupees, and the construction of 38 of those bridges will begin tomorrow (14) islandwide.

The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government focused special attention on this matter immediately after the current government came into power, and obtained a report on rural bridges that require development from all local government authorities across the country.
