Sri Lanka, Oct. 6 -- 8 Indian nationals have been arrested by the police for operating an illegal online gambling scheme out of a residence in Talawatugoda.

The raid was carried out by the Thalangama Police following information received that a group was staying at a house in the area and running the operation using computers and mobile phones.

The raid was conducted under a search warrant obtained from the Kaduwela Magistrate's Court.

Officers from the Criminal Records Division, the Computer Crime Division of the Criminal Investigation Department, and the Tourist Police Division jointly searched the premises, arresting 8 Indian nationals aged between 22 and 51.
