Sri Lanka, Oct. 3 -- The Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, Ananda Wijepala, has announced that 68 police officers have been interdicted since January on charges related to narcotics.

The officers face allegations concerning the use and possession of illicit drugs.

Minister Wijepala stated that further investigations have been launched against the interdicted officers.

In addition, ongoing inquiries are being conducted to identify any other police personnel potentially involved in drug-related activities.
