Sri Lanka, Sept. 5 -- Thirty-five Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), including four female officers, have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) with the approval of the National Police Commission.
This is according to a letter issued by Inspector General of Police Priyanta Weerasuriya.
The letter also states that three other officers have been placed on a waiting list due to ongoing investigations.
Among the newly promoted officers are DIG G.N. de Zoysa, who will take charge of the Welfare Division; DIG W.P.J. Senadheera, who will head the Western Province (Traffic) Division; and DIG M.D.P. Dayaratne, who will be in charge of the Financial Crimes Investigation Division.
