Sri Lanka, April 28 -- Thirty-four school children sustained injuries and were admitted to the Bagawantalawa Regional Hospital after a bus transporting them from the Ranikadu area to schools in Bagawantalawa town met with a mishap.

The incident occurred around 7:30 AM in the Campion Estate area on the Ranikaduwa-Bagawantalawa main road.

The driver intentionally steered the private bus into a roadside embankment to bring the vehicle to a halt following a sudden mechanical failure in the braking system while in motion.
