Sri Lanka, Oct. 17 -- The price of a 24-karat gold sovereign has surpassed the Rs. 400,000 mark in the local market.

The All-Island Gem and Jewellery Association stated that as of this morning, the price of a 24-karat gold sovereign has risen to Rs. 410,000.

Furthermore, the price of a 22-karat gold sovereign has increased to Rs. 379,200.

The All-Island Gem and Jewellery Association further noted that the price of gold has risen by Rs. 15,000 today compared to yesterday.
