Sri Lanka, Oct. 10 -- The Colombo High Court yesterday (9) sentenced a 21-year-old mason to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment after finding him guilty of trafficking the narcotic substance known as 'ICE'.
The sentence was delivered by Colombo High Court Judge Rashantha Godawela.
The accused, a resident of Mannar, was arrested by police near the Eluthur Junction in Mannar on 3 November 2022 while transporting the narcotic substance.
The Attorney General had filed charges against the accused under the Poisons, Opium, and Dangerous Drugs Ordinance (as amended by Act No. 1 of 2008).
