Sri Lanka, Oct. 7 -- The Arthur C. Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies announced that the moon will appear as a "Super Moon" today (6), which is the Vap Full Moon Poya Day.

The Institute stated that the moon will appear about 7% larger and brighter than a regular full moon.

The moon appears as a "Super Moon" only a few times a year.

This condition occurs because the moon travels closest to the Earth in its elliptical orbit.

Additionally, the planet Saturn will be observable near the full moon today.
