'Fake doctor' in Rs. 50mn fraud case bailed
Sri Lanka, June 18 -- A woman alledged to be posing as a fake medical doctor, arrested for alledged Rs. 50 million money fraud, was released on strict bail conditions by Horana Chief Magistrate Lakmini Vidanagamaga today (18).
The suspect, who was arrested by the Horana Special Crime Investigation Unit, was produced before court on charges of fraud, criminal misappropriation, and breach of trust.
Police informed the court that the suspect did not possess any valid certification registering her as a government medical practitioner.
