Woman's body found in Punjab canal, 2 held
Ludhiana, May 20 -- The body of a 29-year-old Punjabi singer and makeup artist was recovered from the Sirhind Canal at Neelon on Tuesday around 11am, six days after she was allegedly abducted at gunpoint in Ludhiana, police said.
Inder Kaur, also known as Yashinder Kaur, a resident of Jamalpur in Ludhiana, went missing on May 13 after leaving home in her car to buy groceries, her brother Jotinder Singh said. He accused Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha, a native of Moga currently based in Canada, his father, Pritam Singh and friend Karamjit Singh of kidnapping her at gunpoint, police said.
