India, Sept. 9 -- Office attendance systems have long been used by companies to track when employees start and finish their workday. While many workplaces continue to rely on the punch-in and punch-out system, the relevance of such attendance systems is being debated as flexible and outcome-based work becomes more common.

In a recent Instagram video, marketing professional Taashi Thukral shared her "corporate hot take", calling the traditional punch-in, punch-out system "archaic" and questioning its relevance in modern workplaces.

"Corporate hot take is that I think the punch-in, punch-out system at work is archaic, unless you are a daily wage worker or a factory worker," she said.
