Bidar, Aug. 26 -- A woman and her five children were found dead in Karnataka's Bhutanal Lake on the outskirts of Vijayapura district on Wednesday morning, police said.

Deputy superintendent of police, Nagaraj, said the woman's husband, a 40-year-old man in Toravi's Shanti Nagar, told the police that he had a bitter argument with his wife on the night of August 23 (Sunday).

The man told the police that his wife and children slept in the house, and he decided to sleep outside. But when he woke up at 5am on Monday, his wife and four children were missing from the house.
