Ludhiana, Aug. 14 -- With the city gearing up for the 80th Independence Day, the district administration on Thursday held a full-dress rehearsal at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) grounds, with marching contingents, a PT show and a colourful cultural programme giving a glimpse of the main celebrations.

Deputy commissioner Himanshu Jain presided over the rehearsal and unfurled the national flag before taking the salute from the participating contingents. The march past featured men and women contingents of the Punjab Police, Punjab Home Guards and NCC cadets, among others, under the command of PPS officer Harshpreet Singh.
