With 25 tunnels, Srinagar to Jammu travel time to be covered in 3 hrs: Gadkari
Drass, June 11 -- The Union road transport minister Nitin Gadkari has announced a slew of upcoming road infrastructural projects and upgrades of the existing highways and high speed corridors in J&K and Ladakh with the promise that people in J&K will be able to complete travel on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway in just 3 hours from next year.
Gadkari, who was in Ladakh on Tuesday for the breakthrough of Zojila tunnel, said that highway development works and high speed corridors worth Rs.2 lakh crore are underway in J&K and road and tunnel projects worth about Rs.18,000 crore are under implementation between Kargil and Leh.
