Wholesale inflation rises 2.13% in Feb
New Delhi, March 17 -- India's wholesale inflation, as measured by the Wholesale Price Index (WPI), rose to 2.13% year on year in February from 1.81% in January, data released by the Union ministry of commerce and industry on Monday showed. The increase was mainly driven by higher inflation in other manufacturing, manufacture of basic metals, non-food articles, food articles and textiles.
On a month-on-month basis, wholesale prices rose 0.25% in February, slowing from 0.38% in January. The sequential rise was led by fuel and power and manufactured products.
