India, Aug. 17 -- A Marshall County jury has convicted an Alabama man of brutally killing a beloved elderly rescue dog named Jack. John Patrick Bannan was found guilty of aggravated cruelty to animals after he admitted to the attack on the Australian Shepherd, claiming the dog trespassed on his property.

Bannan, 56, is from Union Grove, according to the Marshall County District Attorney's Office.
