India, Sept. 6 -- Eleven students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) have filed a complaint with the university's Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), alleging sexual harassment by a professor, according to university sources.

The complaint was filed in May this year, following which the ICC began proceedings and called several students to record their statements, the sources said. The university then went into a roughly 45-day semester break. When students returned in mid-July as classes resumed, discussions surrounding the complaint resurfaced, a source said.

The allegations stem from viva examinations held in the first week of May, when the professor allegedly made inappropriate remarks with sexual connotations, the source said. In...
