India, Aug. 17 -- The WNBA has not added new rules defining who qualifies as a woman after a league task force met to discuss transgender athlete eligibility. The group discussed the issue on Wednesday but did not agree on new eligibility rules, ESPN reported. The league said there are "no immediate eligibility matters affecting the WNBA" and rejected "bad-faith efforts" to demean or marginalize people. The question gained attention after former NBA players Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White said they plan to enter the 2027 WNBA Draft. For now, the league's existing eligibility language remains officially unchanged.
