India, Nov. 9 -- Parappana Agrahara Central jail in Karnataka's Bengaluru has hit headlines after videos surfaced purportedly showing inmates using mobile phones, watching television, raising allegations of security lapses and preferential treatment.

Prison authorities on Saturday launched a probe after the purported videos surfaced, PTI news agency quoted sources as saying. Later, Karnataka Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara reacted to the reports of VIP treatment to inmates in Bengaluru central jail and said, "I won't tolerate it."
