Vinesh says will appeal verdict
New Delhi, Aug. 4 -- Wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who led a 36-day sit-in protest against alleged sexual harassment by former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, said the wrestlers will lodge an appeal against the latter's acquittal by a Delhi court.
The two-time Olympian issued a statement on X shortly after Delhi's Rouse Avenue court acquitted Singh and co-accused Vinod Tomar, a former WFI joint secretary, in the sexual harassment case filed by six women wrestlers. One of the wrestlers, a minor, later withdrew her complaint.
