LUCKNOW, Aug. 19 -- Uttar Pradesh is likely to receive more heavy to very heavy rainfall till August 22 as a well-marked low-pressure area near southeastern UP maintains strong monsoon activity, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Wednesday.

The system is likely to move west-northwestwards over Jharkhand, southeastern UP and northern Chhattisgarh during the next 24 hours. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in southern parts of the state during the next 48 hours, the weather department said.
