India, Aug. 9 -- Verizon customers across the United States are reporting widespread cell service disruptions, leaving thousands without phone connectivity.

According to outage-tracking website Downdetector, outage reports began coming in around 3:50 p.m. EDT on Saturday.

By 4:10 p.m., Downdetector had received more than 8,000 reports, with most customers reporting issues with calling services.

Customers across the country, including in New York, California, Washington and Pennsylvania, reported experiencing service disruptions.

Several frustrated customers took to X (formerly Twitter) to report the outage.
