India, Aug. 13 -- Pune - The dealers said recent changes in RTO procedures have made post-sale and purchase formalities cumbersome for both dealers and customers, resulting in delays and repeated visits to the RTO.

The association demanded that mandatory Aadhaar linking and multiple OTP requirements for vehicle transfer and hypothecation be reduced or simplified. It also sought faster processing of transfers, saying procedures that earlier took one to two days can now take 15-20 days due to additional requirements such as RTO intimation, dealer authorisation and toll-dues checks. The dealers also demanded consolidated documentation and receipts for insurance, PUC, toll NOC and tax-related requirements.
