India, Oct. 19 -- A United States Air Force Airman Technical Sergeant Ian Patterson has been identified as the man who died after descending more than 150 feet from the stadium's rafters.

The Air Force service member succumbed to his injuries following a fall that occurred on Saturday during a fast-rope demonstration at the Alamodome in Texas.

Patterson was among four personnel engaged in rappelling operations from the rafters prior to a Navy versus University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) football game. He lost his grip and struck the ground with considerable force, subsequently being transported to a medical facility where he was pronounced dead.
