UPSWC seeks action-taken report in bus gang rape case
India, Sept. 1 -- AGRA Taking cognizance of the alleged gang rape of a 16-year-old girl on a moving sleeper bus in Noida last month, the UP State Women's Commission (UPSWC) has sought a detailed action-taken report from the Gautam Buddh Nagar police commissioner.
The incident occurred on the rainy night of August 4. According to the police, the minor, hailing from Mainpuri, had left her home without informing her family following a reprimand from her mother over her studies. While en route to her cousin's house in Noida, she mistakenly alighted at Pari Chowk and boarded an empty sleeper coach.
