India, Aug. 21 -- LUCKNOW Uttar Pradesh and Japan will deepen cooperation in semiconductors, advanced technology, skill development, employment and tourism, chief minister Yogi Adityanath said after meeting Japanese Ambassador to India, Ono Keiichi, here on Friday.

The Japanese side informed that during Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's visit to India in July 2026, semiconductors were identified as one of five priority areas for Japan-India economic security cooperation. They said a team of industry representatives will visit UP to explore opportunities in the semiconductor sector. A Japanese industry team is also scheduled to visit Semicon India and HCL Technologies in mid-September.
