Bangalore, April 22 -- The Income Tax Department has told the Madras High Court that an investment of Rs.7.36 crore disclosed by Udhayanidhi Stalin in his 2021 election affidavit does not find mention in his 2026 affidavit, raising questions over consistency in the financial disclosures made by the Tamil Nadu deputy chief minister ahead of the upcoming assembly polls.

In a "preliminary report" filed before a bench of Chief Justice S A Dharmadhikari and Justice G Arul Murugan, the I-T Department said the missing disclosure relates to an investment in film production company Red Giant Movies.
