Dehradun, Aug. 26 -- The Uttarakhand cabinet on Tuesday approved the purchase of 1,320 MW of coal-based power from Adani Power Ltd at a tariff of Rs.5.746 per unit for 25 years, the government said, adding that Adani Power was the lowest bidder. The purchase includes 1,234 MW of contracted capacity and aims to ensure a reliable base-load power supply and energy security in the state.
The cabinet, chaired by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, also authorised Uttarakhand Power Corporation Ltd (UPCL) to sign the power supply agreement with Adani Power and complete the required formalities, subject to statutory approvals from the Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission.
