New Delhi, June 29 -- The Indian men's and women's T20 teams suffered a torrid Sunday. In the day's first setback, India were knocked out of the Women's T20 World Cup after Australia's Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner struck half-centuries to secure a six-wicket win at Lord's cricket ground. India needed a win to progress after South Africa boosted their own qualification chances with a win over Bangladesh. In the second setback, India lost the second T20I against Ireland by one run, crumbling to a 2-0 defeat in the two-match bilateral series. The loss was India's first T20 bilateral series defeat since 2023 and their first-ever against Ireland. The Irish win also meant they ended India's 16-series winning streak in T20Is.P15
