India, June 5 -- A Virginia woman, Tracy J. Renshaw, has filed a $1.5 million lawsuit against Outback Steakhouse. She has claimed that she suffered severe and lasting injuries after allegedly slipping on mashed potatoes in the restaurant's Sterling outlet. The case, initially filed in Loudoun County Circuit Court, has since been moved to federal court.

Court filings show that the plaintiff, Tracy J. Renshaw, alleges the restaurant failed to maintain safe premises and did not warn customers about a hazardous condition.

Outback Steakhouse, meanwhile, has denied the majority of her claims and argues that it had no duty to warn of conditions that were open and obvious to a customer exercising ordinary care.
