Tourism dept set to get 2 electric buses
New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- The Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) is set to induct two nine-metre air-conditioned electric buses at a cost of Rs.2.1 crore for tourism, in a push towards promoting cleaner mobility, officials said on Thursday.
The selected bidder will train at least six DTTDC personnel in bus and charger operations, daily inspections, basic troubleshooting and emergency handling, officials said.
DTTDC officials said the supplier of the buses, which must have a usable battery capacity of at least 210 kWh, must ensure compliance with applicable standards, prescribed technical specifications and type-approval requirements under the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
