TN parties likely to conclude seat-sharing pacts this week
Chennai, Feb. 25 -- Tamil Nadu's two major political alliances - the the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and the Congress, and the All India Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK)-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) - are likely to complete their seat sharing arrangement this week ahead of the assembly elections, people familiar with the matter said on Tuesday.
The Congress is aiming at a bargain better than what the DMK is likely to offer - 27 assembly seats, a couple more than what the party had contested in during the 2021 assembly elections, while there seems to be an agreement that there will be no power-sharing, they added.
