TN govt signs MoUs worth over Rs.67k-cr during investors' meet
CHENNAI, Aug. 14 -- In the first investment conclave held after the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) came to power in May, the Tamil Nadu government on Thursday secured 97 memoranda of understanding with companies having domestic and overseas presence, involving investment commitments to the tune of Rs.67,452 crore with a prospect of creating 120,000 jobs, the government said.
The 'Vettri Tamil Nadu Investors Conclave 2026' was held in the presence of chief minister C Joseph Vijay. The majority of investment commitments were made in the automobile sector with as many as 16 companies lining up investments of Rs.16,773 crore, generating 13,475 new jobs.
