TMC MP Prakash Baraik resigns in fresh blow to party, meets CP Radhakrishnan
India, June 11 -- Trinamool Congress (TMC) lost its third MP in the Rajya Sabha after Prakash Chik Baraik tendered his resignation to Rajya Sabha chairman CP Radhakrishnan on Thursday.
On Monday, TMC's Sukhendu Sekhar Ray quit, followed by the resignation of Sushmita Dev on Wednesday, triggering a full blown crisis for Mamata Banerjee's party that lost power in West Bengal last month.
TMC also faces rebellion of many Lok Sabha MPs who are trying to form a separate bloc in the House.
"I do hereby resign from the membership of Rajya Sabha," Baraik wrote to Radhakrishnan. He is also expected to meet the Rajya Sabha chairman later on Thursday.
