India, Aug. 21 -- Pakistani authorities declared Imran Khan medically fit and sent him back to Adiala Jail on Friday, after an overnight examination at a state-run hospital ordered by the Supreme Court. The 73-year-old former prime minister had been admitted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences after a medical report said he was suffering from "level three plus" anxiety - a severe form in which worry overwhelms daily functioning, strains the body and disrupts clear thinking.
Khan, who leads the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has spent the past three years in Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, contesting more than 100 cases filed against him since he was voted out of office in an April 2022 no-confidence vote.
