THANE, Aug. 1 -- Ten people were killed and three injured after a portion of a four-storey building in Bhiwandi town in Maharasthra's Thane district collapsed, trapping several residents under the debris, officials said on Friday. According to officials, the 15-year-old building, Kohinoor Apartments in the Narpoli locality, was unauthorised and had been declared dangerously dilapidated but the owner had allegedly ignored several notices from the civic administration. It was under repairs when its B wing collapsed on Thursday night.
