India, Aug. 29 -- A 29-year-old Indian tech professional earning CA $120,000, roughly Rs.83 lakh, in Canada has sparked a discussion among Indians abroad after asking whether he should return to India or continue building his life in Canada.

The software developer, who moved to Canada in 2022 for a master's degree, said he now has permanent residency and expects to become eligible for Canadian citizenship next year. Despite having built a financially comfortable life overseas, he said questions about marriage, family and his long-term future are making him reconsider where he wants to settle.
