Teachers' body seeks withdrawal of notices over Class 12 pass percentage dip
New Delhi, May 30 -- The Government Schools Teachers' Association, Delhi (GSTA), wrote to Delhi education minister Ashish Sood on Friday seeking his intervention in withdrawing of show-cause notices issued to government school teachers by their schools over a dip in the Class 12 board examination pass percentage.
The GSTA's letter stated that the decline was attributable to multiple flaws in the Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) on-screen marking (OSM) system, which was implemented for the first time this year.
The nationwide Class 12 pass percentage this year was 85.20%, down 3.19 percentage points from last year's 88.39%, and the lowest since 2019, when it stood at 83.40%.
