India, March 1 -- On the first monthly death anniversary of the then deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) state president Sunil Tatkare on Saturday visited the memorial site at the Vidya Pratishthan ground in Baramati and paid floral tributes.

Parth Pawar and Jay Pawar, sons of Ajit Pawar, also visited the site to offer homage.

Speaking to the media, Tatkare said that he did not intend to make political capital out of his visit.

"I do not want to politicise my presence here. Those who wish to speak can say what they want," he said.

Reiterating the party's stand, Tatkare demanded a detailed investigation into the January 28 plane crash in Baramati that claimed the lives of Ajit Pawar and four others.
