PUNE, Sept. 12 -- Wakad police in Pune arrested a Tathawade-based SUV owner for allegedly using a button-operated mechanism to conceal the vehicle's registration number while driving on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway, officials said. He was later granted bail by a court. Vijay Bhagwan Dagade, 44, was arrested on September 10, a day after police registered a case following a video of his SUV showing its rear number plate being concealed by a mechanical flap went viral on social media. The RTO had earlier inspected the vehicle and removed the number-plate concealing mechanism.
