India, June 5 -- Sunil Gavaskar ruled the cricketing field in the '70s and '80s, but the impact he left with his stint has echoed through the years until now. Recently, the young Indian cricketing prodigy, 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who turned out to be the breakout star from IPL 2026, credited Sunil Gavaskar as his inspiration. Recalling that moment, the legendary cricketer tells us, "It makes me feel blessed that somebody who would not have even seen me play, or might have seen an odd grainy video from the early days, would come and say that. Youngsters today have so many things on their mind, but for them to see you in that capacity, is a blessing."
