India, Sept. 2 -- While the death of the Phaltan-based doctor at Sion Hospital on Monday has stoked protests in Solapur district, the state government on Tuesday formed a high-level committee under the additional chief secretary of the state home department to draft an Action Taken Report (ATR) on the October 2025 suicide of another female doctor from the Sub-district Hospital in Phaltan, who also allegedly died due to political and departmental harassment.

After the 28-year-old was found dead in a hotel room in Phaltan, with names of her alleged abusers written on her palm, the state government had appointed a one-member commission of inquiry headed by former Bombay high court judge Justice Sanjay Mehere to probe and submit the report, ...
