ROHTAK, Aug. 19 -- : Hundreds of teachers and employees of Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya at Khanpur Kalan, Sonepat, began an indefinite protest at the university's main entrance, demanding disbursement of pending salaries and a dedicated annual budget from the state government to ensure regular disbursal of salaries in future.

The protest has been launched jointly by the University Teachers' Association and the Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya Karmachari Sangharsh Samiti. The protesting employees alleged that salaries had remained pending for several months, causing financial hardship, and alleged that repeated assurances from the university administration had failed to resolve the issue.
