India, Sept. 7 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' assertion that Mumbai can become 100% slum-free within the next 10 years experts said is not merely a housing target, it signals a potentially significant change in how the city's redevelopment and land resources could be planned.
Fadnavis, while speaking at a NAREDCO Maharashtra event last week said the government would use a cluster-based redevelopment approach, alongside the redevelopment of Dharavi and other large land parcels, to transform informal settlements and older urban areas.
