India, Oct. 16 -- The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday announced the squads for the upcoming ODIs and Tests against New Zealand. Shubman Gill will lead in the first three ODIs and then leave to prepare for the two Tests that follow, an assignment that holds great importance for India's chances to qualify for the World Test Championship (WTC) final. Shreyas Iyer will lead India in the fourth and fifth ODIs.

The ODI players who will be released after the first three ODIs will most probably play the third and final unofficial Test between India A and New Zealand A, which gets underway on November 7. The ODI series begins on November 4 and ends on November 15. The first Test is set to begin in Wellington on November 19....
