Shekhar Kapur says Sridevi was almost in denial of her stardom, calls her director's best friend: 'She was a gift'
India, Aug. 14 -- Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur remembered late actor Sridevi on her 63rd birth anniversary with a throwback picture taken when they worked together for the first time. He directed her in the 1987 science-fiction film Mr India, which is often considered one of the best films in her iconic career.
Sridevi, who died in 2018 aged 54, began her career as a child actor and went on to become one of the most celebrated female stars in Indian cinema, working across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam films.
