New Delhi, Oct. 9 -- Union home minister Amit Shah met Manipur chief minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, during which the latter briefed Shah about the situation in Manipur, according to details shared by the CM's office. The CM's office in a statement said that Shah told Khemchand he would visit Manipur later this month. The state has been roiled by Naga-Kuki clashes and the demand for the NRC exercise, because of which the census has also been postponed.
HT had reported on Thursday that Khemchand and deputy CM Nemcha Kipgen, who had come to Delhi, were holding meetings with senior leaders. The CM office did not share details whether Kipgen too was present in the meeting. htc
