Services sector growth hits 17-month low in June
New Delhi, July 4 -- India's service sector activity lost momentum in June and expanded at the slowest pace in 17 months amid challenging market conditions and weaker domestic demand, according to the HSBC India Services Purchasing Manager's Index (PMI) data released by S&P Global on Friday. The seasonally adjusted services PMI Business Activity Index stood at 57.4 in June, the lowest since January 2025, when it was 56.5.
To be sure, all PMI values above 50 indicate an expansion compared to the previous month, a level both manufacturing and services PMI values have maintained every month after July 2021.
