Sensex, Nifty open higher after two straight session of losses, 'flash crash'
India, Aug. 28 -- Indian shares opened higher on Friday after two consecutive sessions of losses, although caution was expected to persist ahead of a speech by Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh and following sharp volatility during the new closing auction mechanism.
GIFT Nifty futures were at 24,262 points as of 7:56 am IST, signalling a positive start for the Nifty 50, which closed at 24,090.85 on Thursday, according to Reuters.
Despite Raksha Bandhan being celebrated across India on Friday, August 28, the Indian stock market will remain open.
