India, June 4 -- Three months after leading India to a third T20 World Cup title, Suryakumar Yadav is reportedly set to be dropped from the Indian T20I team. Questions around his future as captain beyond the 2026 T20 World Cup had always existed given his age, but it was his prolonged decline with the bat that ultimately raised concerns.
Suryakumar was widely regarded as one of the most destructive and versatile T20I batters in history, boasting a career strike rate of 163. Dubbed India's 'Mr. 360', he scored four T20I centuries - the second-most by an Indian batter in the format. But after the highs of 2022 and 2023, his numbers began to nosedive.
